Lita Rossana Ford (also commonly referred to in the form of Lita Ford) is a British born American guitarist who was the role of lead singer for The Runaways a female hard rock group in the 1970s. The group was admired for their provocative songs and punk-rock design. The band was never able to The Runaways to become an instant hit in the United States, however, they enjoyed a great deal of popularity in other countries, especially Japan. Ford's solo metal career proved successful following the band breakup. Following vocal training, she debuted her own solo album, 'Out for Blood'. This was followed by the release of her second album, 'Dancin' On The Edge'. Ford failed to make any success with either record and was largely absent from the world of rock for about a decade. She returned with a bang with her smashing hit album , 'Lita' which came out in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly (single) and Close My Eyes Forever (ballad) were two of her biggest songs. However, her popularity was not long-lasting and she disappeared from the music industry for a few years. Her return came after the release of 'Black in 1995 and 'Wicked Wonderland about 15 years later. Her latest album was released Time Capsule in 2016. Her name was given The Certified Guitar Legend Award by the Guitar Player Magazine.
